The legal troubles for online gaming platform Gameskraft have intensified after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reportedly arrested the company’s three cofounders in connection with an alleged money laundering and betting-related fraud case.

According to reports, ED arrested Deepak Singh, Prithvi Raj Singh, and Vikas Taneja under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). While Deepak Singh and Prithvi Raj Singh were detained from the Delhi-NCR region, Vikas Taneja was arrested in Bengaluru.

Soon after the arrests, the Karnataka High Court stepped into the matter and issued notices to the ED after the founders challenged the action through separate petitions. The court has now asked the agency to file its response, with the next hearing scheduled for May 14.

The investigation is linked to allegations of cheating and financial fraud involving online gaming platforms such as RummyCulture and RummyTime, which were allegedly operated by Gameskraft and its cofounders. Officials claim the case involves nearly ₹1,000 crore linked to betting and illegal gaming activities.

As part of the probe, ED officials recently carried out searches at 17 locations across Delhi-NCR and Karnataka. During the raids, investigators reportedly seized several documents and digital records that may be connected to the case.

The FIRs referenced in the investigation also include serious allegations from users who claimed they suffered heavy financial losses due to suspected manipulation on gaming platforms. Some complaints reportedly involve cases where individuals died by suicide after losing money.

This is not the first time Gameskraft has come under ED scrutiny. The agency had previously raided locations connected to the company and other gaming firms over suspected algorithm manipulation and possible cryptocurrency-linked money laundering.

Meanwhile, Gameskraft has continued to struggle after India’s nationwide ban on real-money gaming (RMG). The company reportedly laid off more than 400 employees amid growing regulatory pressure and financial uncertainty.

The latest developments come after the implementation of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which officially banned online real-money gaming platforms across the country while allowing online social gaming and esports activities under regulation.
